"Open Water Bound"
I love open water, I love sheltered waters, and I love surfy, fluffy waves, caves and rock gardens and when it comes to kayaking I just love being in one anywhere. Who gives a rats ass where it is you paddle. Our club's newsgroup has become a repository for some hurtful banter on the issue. I prefer the decent blogs I visit around the world and seek comfort knowing if I cannot get out myself I can at least paddle vicariously through those who are able and willing to paddle anywhere at anytime and like I said who gives a rats ass about the rest of the crap. Thanks to all you great kayak bloggers and for all the excellent content. You all know who you are. LOL

I'm right with you Stan. Kayaking is whatever you want it to be, whatever gets you outside.
Right on man. I totally agree Brian.
Dynamite image...they all are.
Thanks Silbs. Really enjoying the new camera but it is keeping me very busy. I so enjoy taking pictures.

That thread is entertaining...sad...but entertaining.
another great visual. mackerel sky too. what effects use? A
and you Stan certainly are one of my favorite bloggers that I visit regularly to give perspective to the bicker and banter that taints my club. Let me guess: power struggle amongst the members of your club too?
Not sure really Gnarly. Some maybe sitting on the coach when they should be trying to hit the water.??????? Anyways good hearing from ya. Hope that Australian weather is keeping you on the water.
Stan
Alison there are no additions to any of my images as I only enhance with colors, intensities, saturation etc. The skies and everything else are all real. Of course you can make day, turn into night and vice versa.lol
The rest is all trade secrets.lol If I told you well I'd have to........heh, heh, I wouldn't though, too much of a pacifist.
Alison, I maybe would not call it "trade secret" but skill.
It takes great skill and dedication to create images like Stan does.
He starts with a very well composed and timed image and then enhances it with software.
As he says, he does not add "stuff" to his images, they are real.
Enhancing images can be viewed as manipulation of the truth but not if you clearly say (or show) that the truth was not you intention. Like any artist with an other medium (paint, stone) I believe Stan is one; he just takes more care in creating his "art".
The results are brilliant.
