"Holey Rock"

 
This rock formation is outside Sandy Cove I believe. You see these rock formtions with holes in them all around the Avalon it seems. A testament to the sometimes wickedness of our weather and the ferocity of the Nrotheast Atlantic Ocean.

"Fox's Rocks"

 

These rocks/cliffs are just up the Peninsula from Blow Me Down and had an interesting grain to them. Some places in NFLD I swear, it looks like the glaciers just left!

"Gull and Geology"

It seems that the lighting, the gulls' backs, and the angle of the rock geology were all in sync for this shot. They stood steadfast as I slipped by their gaze. From a paddle in Cape Broyle, 2007.

"Mystical Spires"

On every kayaking paddle there is always something that tends to stand out from most other parts of the trip for me on this trip was this rock formation at the end of the Islands outside South Dildo harbour. Their colors and sharpness are much more appreciated when you can be there to experience it. I actually smucked bow first into the rock island as I was taking a series of pictures. I was so captivated and trying to get a good shot as I was steering with my feet the stern rudder, looking thru the view finder which makes things appear further than they actually are, oblivious to the wind howling at my back, when all to, all of a sudden................thud.

"Grace Geology"

Feather Point offered some interesting rock geology tempered and weathered by time and waves no doubt.

"Fortified Rock"

These gulls reminded me of sentries standing gaurd over their domain and I felt that they were just waiting for the master gull signal to attack me with....well,... you know with what.

"Look wayyy up"

There was some amazing rock formations to paddle by on the Aquafort kayak club paddle.

"Portal To A Kayakers' World",Witless Bay,NFLD

This is Paul, a fellow kayaker from St. John's NFLD. We were both looking at this portal to the sky and wondering if we could get thru. I am not sure how this gap could have been carved in nature , but it must have been sharp whatever it was. Had to time the waves right. What a sweet paddle on this August day, 2005 in Witless Bay.
