The Tickle Bridge in Canso NS, has connected the mainland to Durrell's Island for as long as I can remember. Most people use it to get on and off the Island. I do remember in my younger a years an old fisherman who had a wooden leg and he use to row his dory across the tickle to get to the mainland. I would rather cross by boat if I lived on the Island but no one does. I paddled around Durrell's Island my second day home. The weather was beautiful and the water pretty much flat for the whole of our visit.
