"Canso Range Light"

As you enter Canso harbour from the east you can line up with two range lights. This is the one closest to the water. After helping Matt get his roll in Glasgow Head I paddled up the harbour into a bit of a refreshing head wind. What a beautiful day to pass Grassy Island. Grassy Island is a historical site and was occupied by the french as early as 1605. The English and the French fought over it in succeeding years for fishing rights. The English burnt the fort there on there way to the famous fortress in Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island. There is lots of old history in these parts.
